- Click on the "Start" menu. - Click on "Settings". - Click on "Control Panel". - Double-click on "Dial-Up Networking". - Double-click on "Make New Connection. |

- Type in Prism Access. - Make sure your correct modem is selected in the "Select a device" box. - Click "Next". |

- Type in the correct telephone number for your area. If the number is local, leave the Area code: field blank. You can find a list of dialup numbers here. - Click on "Next". |

- Click "Finish" to save your new connection to your Dial-Up Networking folder. |

- RIGHT click on the Prism Access icon you've just created. - Click on "Properties". |
|
- If "Use country code and area code" is checked, uncheck it. - Verify that the phone number is correct. - Click on the "Networking" tab at the top. |
|
- Select only "Enable software compression" and "TCP/IP". - The Type of Dial-Up Server should be "PPP: Internet, Windows 2000/NT, Windows ME. |
|
- Select "Server assigned IP address". - Select "Server assigned name server addresses". - Click "OK". |
|
- Click the "Security" tab. - Type in your username in all lower case letters in the "User name:" field. Make sure you include @prism.net with your username. - Type in your password in the appropriate case in the "Password:" field. - It is suggested that no options be checked on this tab. |

- Click on the "Dialing" tab. - Check "This is the default Internet connection:". - Select "Dial whenever a network connection is not present". - Click on "OK". |

- Right click on your newly created Prism Access Dial-Up Networking connection. - Click on "Create Shortcut". |
|
- Click on "Yes" to create the Shortcut to Prism Access on your desktop. |
|
- Double-click on "Shortcut to Prism Access" to get the connection screen. |
|
- Verify that your Login ID is entered correctly with all lower case letters in the "User name:" field. Make sure your username ends in @prism.net. - Verify that the dial-up number is correct and is a local phone call for you. - Click on "Connect" to establish a connection to Prism Access. |
